Car Welding Near Wembley

An MOT advisory on corrosion is a countdown, and payment for ignoring it is measured at the next test. We cut out rotten sills, arches and chassis areas on the lift, weld in metal, and quote from assessment — not from optimism about what a photograph showed.

Quoted fixed, before booking

This work is priced on its specifics once we can see the job — photographs get a fixed figure the same day, and that figure holds at booking rather than surfacing later on an invoice.

About

Welding starts on the lift, not with a paint scraper

Corrosion lies to a camera. What reads as a small bubble at a wheel arch in a photograph is usually a network that has travelled along a seam to somewhere structural by the time you can properly reach it. So welding work here begins on a ramp: the structure is sounded and probed through until the corrosion's full extent is established, and that assessment — not a guess in the car park window — becomes the basis of the quote.

Wembley's cars bring corrosion in their own range: family cars that have run the borough's damp kerbside for a decade without ever sitting anywhere dry, classics and project vehicles stored outdoors through British winters, and imported vehicles with hidden corrosion behind confident paintwork. Sills, jacking points, rear spring hangers and wheel-arch sections are the usual subjects; floors on older cars and outriggers on towing-used vehicles turn up too. Each is load-bearing in a way paint damage is not, and we treat it accordingly.

Welding is priced at quotation because no catalogue can see through a sill: the extent of the cut-out, the metal fabricated or supplied new, the finish level the welded area carries on return — the fixed quote covers all of it from the lift assessment, and where welding leads into paint or restoration, those quotes are separate so you can see the stages and decide what the car deserves committed to it.

Welding is carried out to insurer and manufacturer repair methods where the job runs under an approved claim, and to restoration-grade discipline when it does not. Workshop quality runs under ISO 9001 processes, with ISO 27001 covering the records held for each vehicle. Welded sections are sealed, primed and cavity-waxed against corrosion returning.

Our process

Assessment to weld to protection

Structure determines everything — no cutting until the extent is known, no quoting before the assessment.

01

Ramp and probe

The car is lifted and the corrosion's extent sounded through its panels with probing tools. Your findings arrive as a breakdown — sections carrying rot, how far they run, where the cut lines will need to be — before any cutting, any welding or any commitment.

02

A quote for actual metal

Sections to remove, sections to fabricate or supply, the finish level the welded area returns at: the fixed quote itemises all three, and the price does not drift when the job begins. What the assessment found is what the quote covers.

03

Cut to sound metal, weld to method

Corroded metal goes out to clean structure; replacement sections are seam- and plug-welded to pattern with correct gauge and technique. Welds are dressed flat — the finished area reads as original metal, not as a patch collection.

04

Protection that lasts the winter out

Cavity wax, primer and sealing go into the repaired zone the way the original manufacturer intended — because the point of welding is not this MOT, it is the three after. Further paint or restoration work is quoted separately, on your call.

COMMON
QUESTIONS.

Everything insurance, parts, timelines and warranties. Can't find your answer? Our team is one call away.

A quotation service, always from a ramp assessment — the cut-out extent decides the work, and nobody can quote a sill honestly through a phone camera. The fixed figure you receive lists the sections, the metal supplied or fabricated, and the returned finish level, and holds through the job.
