About

Why wheel repairs need process, not angles

A wheel ruined cosmetically and a wheel compromised structurally can look identical from the driver's seat, which is why wheel work begins with an assessment rather than a price list push: is the damage finish-level or has it reached the metal's shape? Kerb rash (cosmetic) and corrosion (finish layer failing, salt working in) and buckles (structure) each demand a different method, and quoting the wrong one is how a repair arrives back a worse repair.

The Wembley casebook, from years of it: nearside wheels eaten alive by kerb rash from the borough's tight drives and retail-park geometry, winter salt turning lacquer webs on cars that sit outside, and diamond-cut finish misting over in corrosion patches precisely where the machined face cannot cope with unsealed damage. Every one of those has a correct fix from the price list — from £65 cosmetic, from £85 heavy kerb damage, from £95 full refurb or colour change, and from £120 for the lathe work diamond-cut restoration involves.

Structural work has its own tier: straightening and welding from £65 for wheels that can honestly take it, and a straight statement when one has passed beyond that and into replacement. We definitely do not 'save' wheels that are structurally beyond repair — by definition, that habit is a repair nobody wants to buy twice.

Wheel refinishing is delivered to the same insurer and manufacturer-approved paint methods as the bodyshop's panel work, and carries a lifetime paint warranty on the finish. Workshop quality runs under ISO 9001 processes; ISO 27001 covers the images and contact details behind each set quoted.

Our process

Wheel work, stage by stage

From one kerb-rashed corner to a full refurbished set, every wheel follows the same four stages to the same standard.

01

Price the wheel work

Photographs with the wheels in view are all the brief we need: quote from the list, identify any wheel needing straightening or welding as well as finish work, and confirm the turnaround in writing before you drive over.

02

Strip and inspect

Wheels come off; tyres off too where damage warrants it. The second look happens here — what was quoted as cosmetic gets re-checked for buckle or crack, and anything above the quoted figure is confirmed with you before it proceeds.

03

Refinish to spec

Kerb rash reduced and flowcoated, corrosion keys back to clean metal, diamond-cut faces re-machined on a lathe where required. Then prime, paint to the matched colour or your chosen new one, and lacquer to cure, all booth-correct.

04

Balance, torque, handover

Wheels balanced, refitted to manufacturer torque, then the car down off the lift and handed back washed. A set returns looking like a set — uniform finish, no three-out-of-four compromise.
