Car Welding Near Harrow

Advisories turn into failures, and failures turn into cars off the road. We cut out corroded sills, arches and chassis sections and weld in proper repairs — assessed on a lift before anything is touched, quoted fixed, and never patched with a filler over rust.

This work is priced on its specifics once we can see the job — photographs get a fixed figure the same day, and that figure holds at booking rather than surfacing later on an invoice.

About

Corrosion is decided underneath, not on the surface

Welding work is unforgiving of optimism a lot of jobs never see: what looks like a small bubble behind a wheel arch is usually a communication route that runs around a substantial part of the panel. Before anything is cut or welded, the car goes on a ramp and the structure is sounded through — you are told exactly what the corrosion has reached, not offered an optimistic patch that fails the next inspection.

Harrow cars arrive with the predictable local history: older cars that have stayed in the family and driven the same routes for years, cats and vintage owners' weekend machines, imported classics found to have hidden corrosion behind comfortable paint. Sills and outriggers are the common call-outs, followed by rear spring hangers, wheel-arch sections and floor pans. Every one of those is structural-to-safety in a way that scratch or paint work is not, which is why the assessment step is not negotiable.

Priced honestly, welding is a quotation service rather than a catalogue one: the extent of the cut-out decides the work, and a fixed quote is given once the lift assessment is finished. Where the finding is 'this needs welding and a respray', the welding quote comes separately from the finishing quote so you can see each stage and decide what the car is worth committing to — including honestly, when the answer someone needs to hear is whatever suits the car rather than the biggest job.

Welding is delivered to insurer and manufacturer repair methods where the car is on an approved repair, and restoration-grade process discipline when it is not. Workshop quality runs under ISO 9001 processes, with ISO 27001 covering the records behind each vehicle. Welded sections are finished, primed and sealed against the corrosion coming back.

Our process

On the lift before anything is welded

Assessment decides everything here — cutting into a car without knowing where corrosion ends is how welding jobs become second welding jobs.

01

Ramp assessment

The car is lifted and the structure sounded through with probes. You receive a findings breakdown — what is corroded, what it has reached, how far the cut-out will need to extend — before any cutting, and before the quote.

02

Quoted cut lines

The quote fixes the work: sections to be removed, sections to be fabricated or new panels used, and the finish standard the welded area returns at. No surprises mid-job, and no filler over a hole that needed metal.

03

Cut out, welded in

Corroded metal is removed to clean structure, replacement sections are properly seam- and plug-welded to pattern, and the welds are dressed and treated so the repair is invisible under the finish it receives next.

04

Treated, primed, finished

The repaired zone gets cavity wax, primer and sealing against moisture ingress. If the job continues to paint or full restoration, that quote is separate and you decide how far the car goes.

COMMON
QUESTIONS.

Everything insurance, parts, timelines and warranties. Can't find your answer? Our team is one call away.

By quotation, once the car has been on the ramp — corrosion is discovered with the panels, not signed off from a photo. Sill sections, arches, floor pans and chassis repairs all price differently by how far the cut-out runs, and the fixed figure you get covers exactly what was assessed, not a hopeful starting bid.
